Our Structure

The 7th Project Association is incorporated in the State of Alabama as an association. We are a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.  The 7th Project Association is governed by a Board of Directors composed of recognized community leaders and funded by annual gifts of association annual sponsorship.

Our Mission

Our Goals

The 7th Project’s primary goal is to fund Congressional internships for deserving college students who are from Alabama’s 7th Congressional District.   College students will participate in a four-week Congressional internship in the office of Congresswoman Terri Sewell.  The 7th Project will provide housing on a college campus in Washington, D.C. and a stipend during the internship.  Interns must be enrolled in college and must be a resident of Alabama’s 7th Congressional District with high academic achievement and demonstrated financial need.

In addition to Congressional internships, The 7th Project Association partners with community organizations to provide resources and opportunities to the people of Alabama's 7th Congressional District.
